I’ve always loved to read, ever since I was a little girl. To me, books have always felt magical, and reading has never been just about the words on the page—it’s about how those words connect to our own lives.
During my MAPP year, a unit on Literature and Well-being with Angus Fletcher sparked something in me. I realized I could blend my lifelong love of books with the science of positive psychology. That insight became the seed of my capstone—and of the mark I hope to make as a MAPPster in this world: using the timeless format of a book club to explore well-being concepts through literature—through the characters and their journeys.
This picture captures the list of books I curated for the launch of my first season of “BookWell—A Literature and Well-being Book Club”. It represents the beginning of a dream to see many more lists curated and shared far and wide.
The BookWell legacy I hope for is one where stories become bridges—linking ideas, hearts, and lives. A space that nurtures a love of literature while inspiring the cultivation of both personal and collective well-being.
This is my ripple: a living expression of how positive psychology moves from theory to practice—one story, one gathering, one connection at a time. xo
