MAPP 20th Anniversary Community Showcase

opens 12 september 2025

Submissions that are received by 15 October 2025 may become a part of a special artifact at the Summit. 😊

This showcase runs from 12 September 2025 through 22 October 2025.

Calling all members of the MAPP family: students, alumni, faculty, cherished family and friends, Community Partners, and all whose lives have been touched by the magic of MAPP.

Prompt: From Legacy to Flourishing Future

Through the lens of your cell phone, capture a powerful image that speaks to the ripple effect of your MAPP journey, or that of someone close to you. Accompany it with a heartfelt reflection that reveals the values, relationships, and purposeful actions you’ve nurtured.

What have you invested in, through the lens of positive psychology, that you hope will echo into tomorrow?
How has the MAPP experience shaped the legacy you are creating, one moment, one connection, one act at a time?

“This is more than a photo. It’s a glimpse into the enduring mark you are making as part of the MAPP community.” – Martin Seligman

Inspiration

For twenty years, the MAPP program has gathered thoughtful, committed people working toward a flourishing world. Its community extends across industries and continents, united by shared values and passion for the science of human flourishing.

The 20th Anniversary Summit is both a celebration of a powerful past and an opportunity to envision a flourishing future. In times when the world feels heavy, community becomes essential, when people come together to inspire, re-energize, and connect.

Photography provides a way to do this:

  • Images invite the imagination of what could be, sparking hope and possibility.

Contributions will be:

  • Featured in Summit programming
  • Collected on this page as a shared reflection space, highlighting the diverse ways MAPPsters are advancing flourishing worldwide

The showcase accompanies the Annenberg exhibition of 70 printed photographs of renewal from around the world, jointly presented by SeeingHappy, the Positive Psychology Center, and the Positive Arts and Culture Division of IPPA.

Behind the Collaboration

The Master of Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) program at the University of Pennsylvania, the first in the world to offer graduate-level study in this field, has shaped the science and practice of human flourishing for two decades. From its earliest days, the program has brought together passionate and curious individuals from across the globe with a desire to use positive psychology for meaningful change.

This 20th Anniversary Community Showcase celebrates that legacy while embracing the future, inviting the MAPP community to express its vision for flourishing through creativity and art.
