Through my documentation of life in Langa, Cape Town, I encountered both the comfort and the complexity of finding home.
“How is the soul of a home fostered and brought to life through architecture?”
In the image, traces of “Imithandazo Yeengelosi” by South African artist Ayanda Sikade softly echoes – a hymn of spirit and space. Sikade’s gift of transforming jazz into a spiritual offering, where every note becomes a whispered prayer, weaving a delicate thread between belonging and the eternal search for home is engraved in this piece of work.
In that harmony, I realised that home is not merely a structure or a place, but a living rhythm, a quiet prayer carried in the spaces we build, the people we meet, and the stories that hold us.
Enkosi Langa.
