Since 2005, I’ve lived the science of happiness — not as a destination, but as a garden tended with purpose. The historic WEHVFUN Victorian resort in Rehoboth Beach has become my living laboratory of Positive Psychology since 2021 — a place where laughter is the common language, gratitude is practiced, and joy is cultivated as deliberately as the hundreds of aromatic and stunning flowers that create micromoments of joy from the front yard to the magical backyard refuge.
This image — “HAPPINESS” surrounded by zestful color — greets visitors on what is now known as the “Hanging Gardens of Rehoboth”: a 60 foot long and 8 foot high structure featuring rows and rows of blossoms that attract clouds of hummingbirds monarch butterflies from late spring through the fall. This monument to beauty is so stunning that people come off the streets to stare in awe and surprise.
Over twenty years, I’ve invested in people, possibilities, and purpose. My legacy isn’t a just writing books, bringing the science of flourishing to clients and audiences all over the world, and raising a family that has been positively changed because of my amazing MAPP education – I hope I have created a ripple of hope, grit, and beauty in every life I’ve touched.
MAPP showed me that happiness isn’t found; it’s created. My mission is to keep planting what will bloom and evoke happiness long after I’m gone. 🌺
