Six years ago, I learned about positive psychology and I immediately fell in love with it. in 2020, when the world was hit by Covid, I launched my own online positive psychology institute for the first time. Back then I was very naïve and ambitious, believing that I could change the world. I created an extremely ambitious vision for my institute: Ignite a billion and bless a nation. I had no idea what to expect, but I still dreamed BIG!
Having this BIG dream has given me a strong sense of meaning, direction, hope, and purpose. I woke up with excitement everyday eagerly developing new course, providing more trainings and teaching positive psychology. It was this passion and love for positive psychology that later led me to MAPP and became a proud disciple of my hero: Dr. Martin Seligman.
After I graduated from MAPP, I became much clearer about my career direction. I have been an educator in my life time and I am always very passionate about education, I decided to focus more on positive education and I want to nurture the next generation. My goal is to develop K-12 or K-16 positive psychology curriculum to education students from 1st grade to 12th or 16th grade level. I plan to develop a total of 24 courses (one semester a course). I dreamed BIG, but again, I had no idea what to expect.
However, in 2025, two miracles happened. Somehow my institute and my dream has been spreaded and they attracted some public attention. I was first contacted by one of the largest education groups in China Tianli Education (with over 100,000 students). I was invited to provide positive psychology training to all their teachers. I accepted their invitation and provided positive psychology training to over 5000 teachers from Kindergarten to 12th grade. This is something I had never dreamed that would happen so fast and I was thrilled.
Another miracle was that I was approached by another education group Haoduosujiao in Hangzhou China (serving 6 million students with 100,000 teachers). I have signed the contract with them as their K-12 positive psychology curriculum designer designing K-12 level courses which will be conducted on weekly basis as an after-school course. This is EXACTLY what I have always wanted to do but never thought would happen so quickly.
All these are extremely exciting news and I am still in disbelief that they are actually happening for real. I know none of these would happen if I hadn’t been in MAPP!
I want to take this opportunity to thank Marty for founding this extremely meaningful field of positive psychology, thank James and Leona for creating such a loving family with the MAPP program, thank all the MAPP professors for their dedicated teaching, thank all my wonderful loving MAPP 18 classmates for their friendship and love!
