I chose this image not because being a future doctor encompasses the individual that is me but because it will form a large part of my life moving forward.
The title of this image is “Hope never sleeps” because just like the light in the background that continues to shine despite overwhelming darkness surrounding it, hope labours tirelessly to remain omnipresent even in our darkest moments. Hope forms the foundation of our collective futures, without it even the thought of a tomorrow cannot exist. That is why I love my field of work… I have the amazing privilege of being able to provide hope to people in their lowest, most vulnerable state. There is also the possibility to cause irreparable damage. It is a responsibility I do not take lightly.
