Resilience

The flower in the garden has everything. The flower sprouting from cement has conviction. But the flower who finds a way to rise again after being squished has resilience. It’s stem is bent, petals thin, and yet, it still reaches for the sky. In a community where our voices, cultures, and heritages are being threatened, it is easy to see ourselves under someone else’s shoe. Yet, like this flower, our home still finds ways to celebrate one another and grow: in art, education, work, and history. We are not meant to lay on the ground, we were made to raise our heads and thrive.
