When I studied a semester abroad in Toronto in 2017 I didn’t expect to fall in love with the city as much as I did.
I was finally able to make the trip back this September to celebrate my 30th birthday. My friends who I made back in 2017 became my tour guides for the week, and as a result, curated the most idyllic Sunday in the city.
We wandered through Cabbagetown street festival and finished the day watching the sunset from Riverdale park, pictured here.
We spent the evening catching up on the last 8 years, with a buzz of the people of Toronto around us doing the same. I felt so grateful to be sat on that hill, looking at my favourite skyline, and spending time with those friends I made all those years ago. I felt like I belonged to the city again.
