In addition to Marty’s own children, he’s the reason why several others exist! In this photo, Mika Keener Opp’s daughter Romi (far right, whose father worked as a professor in Huntsman and met Mika at the White Dog, thanks to Leona!) is reunited with Imogen & Ruby, whose parents Amy Walker Rebele and Reb Rebele met as roommates for their MAPP year. The girls have been friends their whole lives, despite living on different continents. (There’s also Asher, son of classmates David Yaden and Bit Smith Yaden, and Leo, son of Brianna Booth and Cory Muscara. And this is just the beginning!) As parents of these lil MAPP kiddos, we may feel a special responsibility to teach our kids through the principles of positive psychology, as it’s a big part of their origin story. To me, it’s the most sacred work of all – helping children uncover why they’re here, what they uniquely offer, and exploring the best elements of being human together. I find the longer I’m out of MAPP, the broader I find the scope of positive psychology, and I’m excited about kicking out those edges, too. Love Mika
