Transitions

Positive Psychology is the foundation of my transition from 33 years in Emergency Services, 20 of them as a Police Officer. Upon my retirement I felt like a rudderless ship: lost, disconnected, naked, without purpose, hopeless, no meaningful future, I did not know how to live. I found myself suicidal. Positive psychology gave me the tools I needed for myself to forge a path forward, to grow from the adversity I had faced throughout my life, the trauma I had been exposed to through my career. Upon learning and embracing the science of well-being, I now found myself in a place where I can teach it to other police officer and first responders. This is my new mission, leading in service to other who are still serving their communities. Teaching them to embrace their strengths, set goals, act with purpose, practice the pause, get lost in the magic of storytelling, act with Courageous Optimism. Positive Psychology saved my life, now I am honored to share it with other who can use it to save theirs.
