Wearing Wellbeing

Clothing is one of the few rituals that touches every life, every day. Through what we wear, we can align the internal and external self—expressing who we are, what we value, and how we move through the world. My work in positive psychology has shown me that dressing is not vanity; it’s agency made visible. It’s the daily opportunity to embody authenticity and cultivate well-being through choice and expression.

This jacket, created for my classmate’s daughter, embodies that belief. Each patch was chosen to reflect her interests and spirit. The “You Matter” emblem is a nod to Isaac Prilleltensky’s teaching that well-being begins with the experience of mattering. To me, it’s also a reminder that early confidence and creativity can shape how we see ourselves for a lifetime.

I continue to explore how intentional design and personal style can foster flourishing—helping people feel seen, grounded, and empowered to look good, feel good, and live good.
