New Year, New Hope

Celebration of Lunar New Year in Philadelphia. Despite freezing temperatures, there is joyful anticipation awaiting the promise of renewal for another year. The red firecrackers in the foreground about to be lit bring good luck, while complimented by the red lined winter coat of the youngster on the right (which I see as a symbol of hope and new beginnings).
