Doll

This is the home of nomadic people who have settled due to the global Carbon Sequestration project. The name of this village is Tajmir. Because of the region’s hot and dry climate, which makes agriculture impossible, the women of the village earn a living by creating traditional dolls. These dolls are inspired by the characters, clothing, and occupations of the villagers.During my visit to this village, the first astonishing scene I encountered was seeing the dolls I had previously seen from this village come to life! It was there that I gained a better understanding of the village’s story and realized that, despite all the images on the walls depicting men, the real breadwinners were the women and girls, whose presence was only represented in my mind. So, I decided to capture an image of the true heroes of the home!
