That evening, it was the start of the monsoon, as we left school.
Some of the pupils had to cross the river to get home by ferry.
A flash of lightning tore the sky behind them, but that didn’t stop them from smiling.
I went to Cambodia to produce a black and white report about children who have suffered terrible crimes and tragedies (pedocriminality, death of parents, etc), but who are taken in by NGOs, sent to school, saved and given hope for a better life.
Life always finds its way and hope remains.
At this NGO in Cambodia, this girls are given an education and a better life. They get to smile again and regain their childlike souls.
