Portrait of a son

The Portrait of my Son inspired me to work Irving Penn and his two iconic series: portraits in a corner imitating an enclosed space, and portraits with a carpet bought at a flea market. I decided to combine both of these bright images and got a concise portrait of a teenager without unnecessary tinsel, creating a unique atmosphere and mood. I used a minimalistic approach to image processing to focus on the object itself. Thus, I wanted to emphasize his individuality. “Portrait of a son” as an image of a passing childhood, a connection and a generation gap at the same time.
