I have provided photographic coverage at many Veterans programs over the years always looking for that one shot that captures the moment. When I spotted these five youngsters of various ethnic backgrounds awkwardly saluting, I knew I had my shot of the day. Earlier they had been shown how one shows respect during the playing of our National Anthem.
As I study this image, I wonder what a great world it could be if their innocence would remain without being tainted by prejudice and bigotry as many of their ancestors might have experienced.
