On most mornings I start my day with a walk in my neighborhood to catch the sunrise. For me, sunrises are a natural metaphor and inspiration for new beginnings, hope, and promise. Sunrises remind me that I am blessed with the good fortune to live another day, that my feet have hit the ground so that I can stand up right, and that I get another chance to be better than I was yesterday.
This morning‘s sunrise over the farm had beautiful colored stations separating the clouds from the sky, resembling an American flag. The picture here is an unfiltered, iPhone picture, that I took along my walk. The natural beauty inspired me to drop a shaded overlay of a subdued American flag to highlight natures reminder that morning in America is a privilege, that I will never take for granted.
