To Re-Create the Self

Any time or place of one’s choosing is worthwhile to engage in any activity or pastime which serves to re-create and renew the self. Here we see a fisherman, a jogger,, a person just sitting, and several people walking. They are enjoying the moment at the Canal Saint-Martin, Paris, France. Approved in 1802 by Napoleon and completed in 1825, it’s purpose was to bring fresh water and supplies to the growing population. As is evident, it is still a popular area for locals and tourists to find a moment for themselves. As photographer, visitor, and by sharing this photo, I also participate in self-renewal. Such is necessary to help us balance and manage the effects of stress and worry in the fast-paced, unpredictable world in which we all must live.
