As I look at this picture I think about how easy it is to forget who you are and where you come from when you’re away from home. Thanks to this traditional attire that was passed down to me, I get to carry my home and my people with me. Carrying my Venda heritage with pride. Each day I stand on campus, I am honouring my ancestors and paving the way for others. Education is my tool for change, and my traditional attire is a symbol of resilience and strength. I’m not just representing myself, but my community and the generations that came before. Aa!
