Burano, a small island in the Venetian Lagoon, is home to around 2,000 residents who live by the rhythms of water and tradition. The island’s brightly painted houses, once a guide for returning fishermen, now stand as a testament to its identity. Lace making, an art passed down through generations, continues in doorways where elderly women work with quiet concentration. Fishermen bring in their daily catch as children play in the narrow streets, lined with drying laundry. Life here moves at an unhurried pace, where history isn’t just remembered but remains a part of everyday life
