Chhat Puja is one of the major festivals of India. The festival lasts for four days and Chhata Puja is dedicated to the solar deity, Lord Surya, to express gratitude for the gift of life on earth and to request the granting of certain wishes. This auspicious day is celebrated by lighting earthen lamps and praying to Lord Surya and his consort Usha. As God directs our journey, it is believed that during this Chhata festival the Sun God himself guides us through his light and eventually we reach our rightful destination one day on the path shown by God.
A way of showing gratitude.
