Appreciate the Trip

Plane travel these days is mostly dreaded, when it used to be an exciting event. Leaving my rain-soaked climate, I just wanted to get it over with. Taking photos from a plane is tricky because land is too far away to be in focus with any normal lens. And you’re moving. So hopes for that were washed away by the pouring rain on the tarmac. We took off and all I could think was ‘are we there yet’? Then my plane soared above the clouds and the beloved sun shone in my little window. The mountain poked up to be part of the action. The clouds looked like snow drifts. My shot captured an accidental double-sun – a magic gift. I felt fresh and hopeful, basking in the heat of my little plastic window.
