Children are biologically designed to educate themselves. They do it Joyfully through play and questioning and exploration. We don’t educate children. All we need to do is to provide the conditions that would allow them to educate themselves. We’re just here as guides
Did you know that things like mathematic ability are GENETIC?
Some people simply aren’t wired to be able to understand algebra. They can only get to a certain level, regardless of how hard they try. Now that can either sound harsh, or it can be incredibly validating and even exciting! Think about it: you are already wired to be great at a certain set of skills. It’s just up to YOU to discover what those skills (talents) are — and find the best way to use them & live a fulfilling life. For the most part, we accept this idea for adults. But why not children, too! Why do we subject children to YEARS of boring content that doesn’t align with their natural interests/skills/talents.
