The “Kartik Brati” or “Rakher Upobash” is an annual religious festival held at Shri Shri Lokenath Brahmachari Ashram, where followers of Baba Lokenath gather on Saturdays and Tuesdays during the last 15 days of the Bangla month of “Kartik.” During this event, Hindu – worshipers fast and light lamps and special incense as they fervently pray for divine blessings, in honor of the 18th Century Bengal saint and philosopher, Baba Lokenath.
