As as designer, I tend to shoot a lot of architecture. Inside this art museum, I came upon this rather fantastic staircase. But how to shoot it? Not only spartan on light, but a fixture in the middle that glared, and people cruising up and down the stair ruining the shot. I took many anyway, trying to get the light right and then aha! I got a break, no one was there. The shot was clean. When I got home to edit, what a surprise to find the little girl in the photo. I hadn’t even seen her. Her innocent look up at me is curiosity, not posing. What a gift to have her inhabit this shot.
