This photo was taken at an Appreciation Party at the Charity Centre Agapas at the Russian Orthodox Christ the Saviour Cathedral — a place where kindness meets courage.
As a Ukrainian refugee and volunteer, I found here a new sense of home in Toronto — among people who open their hearts and help each other rebuild their lives.
Through this moment of shared joy, I wanted to capture what hope looks like: community, compassion, and the belief that we are stronger together.
Toronto shines when we lift one another — and this image is my way of saying thank you to everyone who makes that possible.
