While out for a run in Jerusalem this pup caught my eye and after chatting with her owner I asked if I could take a picture. Despite being relatively high maintenance, this breed has long been one of my favorites for their protective and loyal nature, not to mention their stunning looks.

Clearly it’s tiring being such a photogenic dog, but even mid yawn Nikki’s beauty shows through. As the saying goes she truly has been one of my best friends for the past 12 years and I just had to share her with this community.

I can’t help but recognize the love embodied in my mom’s birthday cards whenever I walk by the fireplace in my house. There is something warm and special about the correlation between birthdays and family.

After more than a year of distance learning, he was able to finally step foot on campus (!) and physically walk across the stage to accept his high school diploma. And we were there to witness it. In person. Grateful.
